Job Description
Management and full responsibility of the accounting function of P&D Northern Steels Ltd working alongside an Accounts Assistant (part time). A very hands-on approach to the role is required, with flexible approach to duties and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business and with external parties. A great opportunity for a self-motivated candidate to grow with the company.
Full time position based at Meek St.
Significant accounting experience at management level essential.
Experience of Sage 50 Cloud based software, Sage Payroll and Excel is essential
Experience of credit risk management is desirable.
Qualified to AAT Level 4/CIMA finalist preferred
CICM is desirable

Responsibilities
- Full Cash Management of the business including Sales & Purchase Ledger
- Creating and presenting monthly Management Accounts for the Directors to include Balance Sheet, P&L and variance to budget reports.
- Fixed Asset management
- Stock report management
- Sales Analysis & Reporting – forming part of the monthly MA pack
- Cash Flow Forecasting and bank reconciliation
- Company Budget creation and management
- Managing Invoice Finance facility and all banking relationships
- Effective management of Credit Control procedures and customer debts including chasing outstanding customer payments/aged debts.
- Real time management of customer credit limits liaising with the sales team to provide informed financially backed information for potentially uninsured accounts.
- Provide weekly Credit Risk reports to the Directors alongside customer credit limit setting and management.
- Overall management of the company Credit Insurance policy and liaise directly with brokers and underwriters.
- Ensure Statutory Payments to HMRC
- Managing all VAT requirements including import and export conformity
- Processing and payment of Salaries & Wages – Sage Payroll
- Controlling supplier payments – UK & International including foreign currency accounts and payments.
- Liaise directly with accounts auditors and any other external parties
- Management of all Company insurance requirements with brokers
- Assisting in wider company purchasing decisions & arranging best finance options based on cost and affordability
- Assistance and advice to The Directors in the financing of potential future acquisitions
- Ability to provide Strategic Business planning and reviews including streamlining of processes and procedures where necessary
